Happy Birthday...

HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY, JUSTIN!!!

Today, the love of my life turns 25. I couldn't be more proud of him! He quit a job he didn't love to go back to school full time. It hasn't been the easist path but we are doing it. He is the most selfless person I know. He truly is a Saint, if you knew me you'd agree. He doesn't do anything half way, he always has given me 110% and came with the attitude if we are going to do this - we are going to do it well and do it right.

Not one day has passed that he hasn't shown me how much he loves and cares about me. I never wonder with him, never question anything and just know that he is exactly what my heart was searching for.

Happy Birthday, best friend.  I could NOT ask for more.

Our Holiday

We had a great Hanukkah and Christmas. We went home Friday to my parents and left late Saturday. I met my friends for breakfast Saturday morning, I hadn't seen them both at the same time in over 3 years. We played board games with my family, ate tons of yummy food and just relaxed. It was a really, really nice visit.
We got home Saturday night, Justin was very excited and wanted to track Santa. We were very happy to see Santa come straight through Morgantown.  We stayed up late watching The Christmas Story. I had to wake Justin up Christmas morning to come open presents. We exchanged presents and had a lazy morning. Justin made Cinnamon Rolls and we vegged out until we headed to his Grandparents'. We had a great time visiting his family and went to my best friend's house for our present exchange. We played board games and just hung out. The day after my best friend and I woke up and hit the after holiday sales!
This week we are trying to get stuff done and mark off items on our To-Do list. We head to Florida Friday after work! We are very excited for sunshine, warm temperatures and visiting Justin's family!

I hope every is having a great end of the year and enjoying the extra family time :)

Pet Exchange

The lovely Ms. Sarah hosted a Pet Gift Exchange.  Buster and I got paired up with her and her adorable little girl, Lucy.

I had so much fun buying pink girl dog toys and looking at all the Frilly doggy items!

Buster was very happy to receive the package from Sarah and Lucy. Buster LOVES getting packages. He loves to rip open the paper and find treats. He wasn't disappointed this time!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

  • Like everyone, our December is packed. Even though I get stressed, a little extra grouchy and emotional...I secretly  LOVE this hustle and bustle. Our house is 99.9% done being decorated. I have suddenly got the urge to go all out this year and have been spending a lot of time in Michael's and The Dollar Tree getting crafty things. Thanks to Pinterest I have been having lots of fun!
  • I have a good start on gifts. We still have a lot left to buy but nothing that will be too serious. I am pretty sure Jusitn hasn't started yet ;) I even wrapped some this morning while he was hunting. I just have to now clean up my wrapping mess. And as a side note - I am done buying cheap wrapping paper. Everything I wrapped somehow managed to tear the paper a little.
  • We are going to out first Bowl game in January. Sine we will already be in Florida we decided to drive a little further and go see WVU take on Clemson in the Orange Bowl. I am very, VERY excited!!
  • My family is coming up tomorrow, we are very excited to have company - however I probably should start dusting, ASAP.
  • I got my first just because we our thankful for you present at work yesterday - it is nice to appreciated :)
  • I hope everyone has a great weekend, I am going to go clean and watch a marathon of How I Met Your Mother.

So much more than I wanted...

It is the first day of Rifle season in WV today. If you have a significant other than enjoys hunting (or if you enjoy it) you know how big of a deal this is. Deer season has never impacted my life, until the last two years. I have off every Monday. Some Mondays I spend it catching up with friends, DVR'd shoes, cleaning or just doing random things. This Monday I woke up at 4:50 to start making Justin's breakfast (he told me to sleep in). As I cleaned up breakfast this morning and I couldn't help but laugh. I never thought I would be excited to get up and see my better half off so early. I never though I would be so happy doing such trivial things. But I am. I have a lot of things to be thankful for this year but I am especially thankful for having more than I ever wanted.

Updates of sorts

I spent some time today going back and rereading my old blog, you know the one my gmail got hacked, password issues and now I can't get in. Sigh.

So many post are about my Grandparents. It has been rough two years in that department. Seriously, I still get emotional just thinking about it. I guess with the upcoming Holidays and the family togetherness, the thought about not having 3 of my Grandparents there is huge. And my one living Grandfather will be going to see his nephew that week so he won't be with us either :(

Justin's family (well his parents) will be in Florida for the holidays and his once across the street Grandparents are now about an hour away (they moved to get out of the harsh winters). So it will be an interesting year.

Justin is almost finished with his first semester of Grad School! Praise the Lord! There are small rumors that he may be done this time next year. I am still saying next May, but secretly hopefully :)

My mom has started Weight Watchers. I am sooo proud of her! She is down 20lbs and really, really doing great!
My dad's cancer scare was a scare and we still have to watch but things are looking good for now!
Brother, well he is still brother. But he is doing well and happy!

Me, well, who has time to worry about themselves?! :P  I am still struggling with weight and finding a minute to breath but things are OK. And even with all the sadness that is comes with missing family members, Justin really does make my cup runnith over :)

7 Quick Takes

  1. It is going to be 50 degrees for the next 5 days or so. I am hoping the warm weather continues but I will be thankful for whatever I can get! I am dreading the winter cold and snow!
  2. My work has decided to close down for even more days around the holidays. I am SUPER excited. I have also taken the first week off in January so we can go to Florida to visit Justin's parents.
  3. If you haven't heard WVU is moving to the Big 12. I am very excited and can't wait to make a tour of Texas/Oklahoma soon!
  4. Justin and I handed out candy last week, I couldn't believe how many people Trick or Treated for infants (I mean actually wanted children under 1 year to have their own bag of candy)
  5. So in 2 years 8 months I will be 30. Crappppppppp
  6. Do ya'll Pinterest? If not, start and be my friend. You will LOVE IT! If you need an invite let me know :)
  7. Sunday we have to take Justin's mom to the airport, we are going to miss her! But I am excited about IKEA, DSW Shoes and even maybe Cabellas :)

All about out Pets.

This week's Show us Your Life is All About Pets! Kelly does such awesome SUYL post, I haven't got to participate in one recently but I knew I HAD to do this weeks!

For those of you that know me, know how much I love Buster. For a long time it was just me and him. He is very spoiled and loved VERY much. When Justin and I first started dating he told me he wasn't a fan of small dogs and didn't understand why anyone would have one. That attitude didn't last long. Buster is now happy that he has both a Mommy and a Daddy that loves him to pieces.

Buster came to live with me after my best friend's mom decided her crazy schedule wasn't conducive to such a little puppy. He came into my life two years ago (he's three) and I honestly can't imagine not having him.

Buster is a Boston Terrier.  He loves to be around people and especially loves to snuggle with you in bed or on the couch.

He has no fears. He loves to go outside and run chase deer/horses, bully play with other dogs and just be with us.

We took him on our first family vacation this summer. Both sets of his grandparents adore him too. Justin's mom lives on the same street as us, so she gets to doggy sit two times a week when our class/work schedules are too long!

Being a WVU fan was in his blood from day one! He loves  tolerates letting me dress him up and is such a great sport about it!

Buster really is part of our family. It is amazing how much he adds to our life and how much joy he brings us.  I would highly recommend a Boston to any one. He is the perfect fit in our family!

My Own Weigh....

No more excuses. I have debated going back to WW meetings and doing the new Points Plus plan, but I can do the old way at home and do it on my own. Well with Justin and all of you. Tomorrow morning I will start counting every point. I will weigh in every Tuesday morning. I am nervous. It wasn't that hard last time, but I was single, I didn't have to worry about Justin's dinner and making sure he had enough to eat. Now, don't get me wrong. He totally, 100% supports me, but this isn't his issue or his weight to lose. Exercise will be harder this time too. Rebecca and I ran/swam daily and I had a lot more free time. My 7.25 hour work day and 10 minute commute is now a 10 hour day and a 1 hour each way commute. So it will be running at home when I can, doing home work outs and videos. Any tips or ideas are greatly appreciated :) So hopefully the next week will be smooth and I will see a loss!

7 quick takes....

  1. Ahhhh, Friday! It is my favorite day of the work week! Today should be a pretty easy and calm day. I have already completed my first hour (9 more to go). Work is going really well, it is fusturating being in Early Childhood because  I know I will never be rich, but I am Ok with it.... most days :p
  2. College Game Day came to Morgantown last weekend. It was fabulous! We had 21 hours of college football. A bit tiring but totally worth it. The game was awesome too. Even if we didn't win. Isn't this picture awesome?

The Gold you see waving is WVU towels, 60,000+ waving is an awesome sight!

3. We are still waiting to hear the results of my dad's biopsy. We should know something sooner than later. We are still all really postive. His surgery went well and now we just have to wait.
4. Bow (deer) Season starts in WV tomorrow. I will be a hunting widow.
5. I am hoping to spend Sunday and Monday working on the house and putting up more Fall/Halloween decorations. There is a chance of snow flurries in our forcast for this weekend. I.AM.NOT.READY.FOR.SNOW
6. In 11 weeks it will be Christmas. I can't believe this year is almost done. It really has flown by!
7. Lastly, I will leave you of two of my favorite pictures from my brithday weekened. Family X2

Thursday, September 22, 2011

Today is my last day of work. 43 hours of work this week over by Thursday. I am tired, exhausted and ready for sleep... But that isn't an option till Sunday.

We are going home tonight to be with my parents as my Dad faces a pretty scary surgery tomorrow. The C word is a slight possibly at this point. We could use some BIG prayers, please.

Saturday morning, in the wee hours we will be heading *like 3am* back to Morgantown to get in line for ESPN College Game Day. We will hang out till it starts at 8 stay till its over then go home and CRASH till we get up for the game, I am hoping to to start tailgating at 4. It will be a long but AWESOME weekend.

I can not wait for Saturday. I am praying that everything is great with my dad and we really can enjoy ourselves Saturday.... It is honestly the biggest college football game for WVU in my lifetime!

Football

I have been absent for far too long. It is a very hard habit to break. I have at least 20 post in waiting to actually post but for some reason they never make it.

Life is great, but that my friends, is another story. Today I need to talk about football. My favorite part of fall, one of my favorite parts about WV, one of my favorite topics.

We started off this year with a new coach, I was very excited. I strongly disliked our old one. We have a few bugs that need worked out, but things are going OK. We are 3-0 and have a big game coming up this weekend. LSU. If you haven't heard they are #2 in the Nation. We are #16. Big game, big deal.

Even bigger deal, for the first time in my life and HISTORY, ESPN College Game Day is coming to town. Umm Crap. I may have an excitement overload. Our town, well we get pretty rough. Fire Marshalls have already started taking couches off of porches. We burn them if you haven't heard! I am not Proud or Promote this, FYI. We also pregame harder than most party. We have a reputation of being bad (this will be revisited soon). But most importantly, our fans are amazing (for the most part). Our coaches, players (any sport), there is just something there.

I will be partaking in the normal, happy, toss a few beers back tailgates. I will cheer loudly and sing proudly when we beat LSU Saturday.

And if that wasn't make your heart stop beating exciting enough, well hold on! Because we are also starting a new path, right into the hearts of the SEC Conference. They don't want us, we know it. But they are taking us. I love the Big East, it has been our home and it will be hard for me accept we are no longer with them. (I mean hellooooo 'Bama is a FAR away roadtrip) But we will be with the more elite kids now, Right? I am not a huge fan of this move but I am trying not to think about it.

Right now, all I can think about is trying to meet Kirk Herbstreit and beating #2 LSU. And hoping for no riots, couches burnt or pepper spray. Let's GO!!!

Blogging....

I struggle with writing in here as much as I once did. I am not sure that exact reasoning but blogging has defiantly taken a back seat.

It has been a whirlwind few months. I really do believe that after I moved in with Justin we have not stopped running or doing something EVERY day. Things have finally slowed down and although some of the slowness comes from sad events, we are finally to the point we are not running every weekend.

April was my last post. In this post I asked for prayers for my Chickie, my grandmother. Sadly to say, at the end of May we lost her :( My heart is still very sad and there is still a hole I know that will never be filled and I get sad when I think of the upcoming events in my life that she will not be here for, but I have 26 years of wonderful memories that will help.

My Pap is still declining but is happy in his nursing home and doing Ok. Justin and I went home for Father's Day - This maybe one of my favorite pictures.... I am blessed with terrific men in my life.

My new job is no longer new, lol. I have settled into a nice routine. I am still enjoying it and looking forward to what the next few months unfold and the challenges that will surface.

Things with Justin are still better than words. Moving in together was as great as I'd hope. I tell him all the time that being with him is the easiest thing I have ever done.

For the first time in a long time, I am completly at peace with everything in my life. :)

A Picture Post...

Camo and Glocks, two words that used to NOT be in my vocabulary.

My sweet Buster. He is my baby, I am that dog person. Don't judge :P

Saturday we went and found Ramps. Yummy and such a nice day to spend outdoors.

I love his little half smile. I am pretty sure there isn't anything I don't love about him though.

Buster loved being outside yesterday. He ran and ran, he has done so well with the move and all the transitions. I really am blessed.

7 quick takes....

1. My grandmother is at the Cleveland Clinic, she could use some prayers. Hopefully we will have answers soon - and hopefully they are answers we want to hear.

2. My new job is going FANTASTIC. I love it. I made the right choice and I have no doubts. I have just enough in the classroom time to get the teacher in me out but just enough out of class time to really enjoy the teacher part.

3. I am finally feeling better. Not 100% but almost there. I am sooo thankful. Justin took such great care of me and babied me, I was totally spoiled it made dying feeling sick easier.

4. The other big change in my life is the relocation and living with Justin. I didn't have any doubts about this but I worried about Buster and the commute. Buster is thriving in this environment. He loves it here and is doing so well with the routine. Thankful should be the title of this post because that is what I am filled with. And being with Justin is everything I'd hoped it would be.

5.  I signed up for E-mealz - it is fantastic. We haven't really followed it yet but it has great meals, simple plans and really is saving on our grocery bill. It is so nice knowing what we are fixing when. I am excited to start really implementing it into our routine daily.

6. I took this picture with Justin's new Nikon - Isn't he adorable?

7. Again, my goal for this weekend - CLEAN MY HOUSE and unpack. It needs it, desperately.

My 2nd work week and I'm already sick ....

If any of you have ever worked around kids in a mass setting or even sent your kiddos to day care you know that the germs are endless. Your body eventually builds up a kick ass immune system but the first few weeks, well they are tough. So tough that I took yesterday and today off so I wouldn't die on the job. (I am not dramatic at all, FYI) My fever reached as high as 103.7 - I really did feel like I was dying. Poor Justin - he took such great care of me and really put up with a lot of whinning and crying. He has been a life saver. So here is to hoping all the sick germs miss us and Justin does NOT catch this....

Catch up...

After a million trips last weekend and a lot of sleepless nights, I am officially moved in with Justin. Now, moved in in the sense that all my stuff is here. I am living in boxes and chaos but I am here. Today is the day I will unpack and organize. That's my goal at least.

We have had a long weekend. We had a bad storm that killed our power. This wouldn't be such a big deal but Justin's parent's house has to be kept on a generator due to flooding in the basement and a pump in the basement. Again not a big deal if the generator would have started within the first three hours of trying. And usually this wouldn't keep us up all night but Justin's parents were at the beach house so it was our issue. The next night we went to bed at 6:30, lol.

I started my new job this week. So far so good. I feel like this is where my heart is telling me to be and I really am glad I made this choice.

Other than that this week has been pretty normal. We are just trying to get the house organized, get used to the new schedule and figure out how to make everything work for the both of us :)

Goodbye Old, Hello New

1. Today is my last day at my current job. I am not nearly as sad as I thought I'd be. I am excited. Excited to see what the future holds and where my new job will take me.
2. This weekend is my last weekend in my apartment. In another two loads of stuff I will be officially living with Justin. Home is where the heart is....
3. Today we left Buster for the first time ALL day at the new house. Justin's dad is stopping by a little after 4 to check on him and give him a potty break since we will be home late (we are gathering another load today). It is a trial run that  needs  HAS to do well. He will be home for 8-9 hours a day now....
4. It is amazing weather here today. Perfect for moving. Please say a prayer that the rain holds off.
5. Last night I tried my first green beer. Please don't laugh.
6. I really wasn't sure how I would feel - new job, new house lots of new in my life. But I am 100% at peace with my choices and feel really REALLY good about everything. Justin seems to be too, at least I hope he is. HA
7. And last but not least, How 'bout those Mountaineers?! I love March Madness.

Monday, March 14, 2011

It's Just another Manic Monday....

My last week living in Morgantown and my last week at my current job. Lots of changes. Lots of good changes.

This weekend was nice. Friday we loaded up my Jeep and headed to Justin's our house. We cleaned up around his house tried to organize and get things settled but as you all know, when you move EVERYTHING is chaos.

We went to a local Coffeehouse to see two musicians Saturday night - Andrew McKnight and Lisa Taylor with Justin's parents. It was a really nice night and nice to have a break from the mess.

Sunday we enjoyed Saturday's break so much we decided to go shoot guns and enjoy the sunshine for a few hours. I took this picture with Justin's new Nikon D3100 - Can I just tell you that I lovvvvvvveeeee this camera. It is amazing. (so isn't he...bahah)

Today is my Nan's birthday, our first one without her. She was an amazing lady and one we all miss daily.

I had a mid morning massage today, it was just what I needed. Justin and I started back up with the C25K and my muscles are sore. I need to stretch better and more. Plus add in some more water! Although I am tight and sore today, the massage really helped and I am ready to run tomorrow :)

I have only an hour left of work, this daylight savings change has made today seem to fly by, even though I am tired today I will gladly take the sun staying out longer and the warmer temps mid day!

I am ready for this week to be over and for Justin and I to be settled into ONE home, together. Have a good week!

The Calm Before the Storm....

I have 7 night left in my Apartment, it is sudden and I am really Ok with it.  I love my roomie. She is fabulous. She wanted to be able to keep the apartment after I left, we do have a pretty awesome place, and I told her if she found a roomie that needed the place sooner than May we could be negotiable. Well she found someone and he needed it ummmm yesterday, lol. So over the next week I will have EVERYTHING out of my apartment and be officially living with Justin. I couldn't be more excited. So if I am MIA for the next week, you know why. I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend :)

A little bit of this and a little bit of that...

  • Another Monday morning is here ( I started this blog post almost 4 hours ago)... Yesterday we had a nasty weather day. A cold front came in and brought snow.  This is the view on our way home last night. I wasn't amused.

  • Today it is sunny and high of 40. I will take the sun and higher temps any day. I am over snow. I am over being cold and I am over winter.
  • I am thankful for warmer temps today too because tonight I (Justin too) am starting (for the second time) Couch to 5k. I finished it up last year end of August. I am anxious to start again. I am really disappointed that I fell off the wagon and even stopped swimming. I used the cold, the ice and everything under the sun as an excuse. It is time to start the process again. I felt so great when I was running, I'm hoping the runner's high comes back.
  • I am also really pushing myself because one of my best friend's has moved up her wedding from Sept to May. She has also moved it to the beach, which would be great if I wasn't the size I am. So hopefully over the next 11 weeks I can lose some weight and feel better about myself so when I stand up with her I am not so self conscious.
  • However, despite all of that I am excited about the first of our two beach getaways this summer.  We are taking a long weekend and going to Charleston, SC for the wedding and two weeks at the end of July to go to Florida to stay with Justin's parents.
  • The Mountaineers played an amazing game Saturday. We will play our first Big East Conference game Wednesday night :) This really is the best time of year for basketball
  • I turned in my two week notice at work, it went better than expected. I am scared, excited and really nervous. I am hoping I made the right choice.
  • And finally, Brittany over at Love Stitched is having an amazing give away, check it out!!

Show us Your Life...Family Style

It is Friday, and if you Follow Kelly you know that usually means it is time for another installment of Show us Your Life. I haven't perticipated in one in a really long time but today she is asking everyone to show off your families. She is asking everyone to show off the family you grew up in ..

These are my parents, Lynn & Hoss.

Today is actually their Anniversary. My parents have been through a lot and they have taught me so much about life.  They are honestly the two strongest people I know.  My mom has a heart of a Saint. She has been a selfless mother, wife, daughter and daughter-in-law. My grandparents have been failing over the last few years and my mom has been the first one to step in and help take care of anyone that needs it. My Dad has always put what Zach and I needed ahead of anyone else too. They have both been our biggest support system and wonderful parents.

Zach, my adorable, ladie's man 23 year old brother. He is full of life, spunk and laughter. He is still trying to figure out where he wants to be in the world and how he'll get there, but I know with out a doubt he is bound to do great things! As much as he doesn't want to admit it - he is a Momma's boy.

Now this is Zach and my Nan (Dad's Mom), Nan passed away last June. Our grandparents were a huge part of our life. They were a true definition of what Grandparents should be. Always loving, always giving, always full of fun and always there for us. We were blessed with two amazing sets of grandparents who helped shape us into who we are today. I know my parents will make just as amazing grandparents someday.

This is my dad's parents - Nan and Pap.And this is my mom's parents - Chickie and Papaw
